This thing still on?

I'm a few years late to the party here, and I have a stack of blog post articles that never were touched. I think its time I write things out, put some ideas out here on the blogosphere, and hopefully improve my writing skills over time.

I'm Hector, I support the US Men's National Team first and foremost, and have a large soft spot for the Dutch national team on the international level. Club-wise I support Liverpool FC, Atletico de Madrid, SV Werder Bremen, AC Fiorentina in Europe, and the Seattle Sounders FC at home.

Basketball was my passion growing up, and then some assholes decided they wanted to move my favorite team from Seattle to Oklahoma City with the only current player I considered appointment-TV in Kevin Durant, and a GM team who I thought were destined for great things at the time, Sam Presti and Rich Cho. On June 15, 2008, I spent the day working at home, and drinking some beer. Turkey played the Czech Republic in their final group stage game of Euro 2008. Sometime between Arda Turan's 75th minute strike, and Nihat's double in the 87th and 89th, I became disinterested in my work and captivated by the energy of the Turkish crowd in a game that had been relatively boring. With Petr Cech's fumble and Nihat's opportunistic finish, and the elation that ensued, I knew then that futbol had become more than just my favorite sport, but a passion that would never waver. Two weeks later, the Supersonics were officially moving to OKC. I realized soon after that it would be ok. The USMNT's going to be around for a long while.
